Your First 30 Days in Singularity: A Week-by-Week Survival Plan

Every time a new trailer wave hits, Singularity gets flooded with fresh faces, and every time, I watch the same thing happen: new players rush the fun-looking abilities, ignore the boring fundamentals, and spend week three wondering why the AI keeps dismantling them. So consider this your intervention. Here's how I'd structure your first 30 days, based on far too many hours and far too many stupid deaths.

Week One: Don't Touch the Cool Stuff Yet

I know. The late-game ability trees look incredible. Resist. Your first week should be boring on purpose, because the fundamentals in Singularity compound like interest.

Focus on three things: movement, the scan-ping rhythm, and resource discipline. Learn to move without stopping — the AI punishes stationary players faster than anything else in the game. Get comfortable pinging your surroundings every few seconds; the scan system is your real radar, and players who ignore it are basically playing with the lights off. And hoard your early crafting materials like it's 2028 and the supply chain is gone. You'll thank yourself later.

The classic new-player trap? Engaging the first patrol that wanders by. You don't have to fight everything. Sneaking past an encounter is not cowardice — it's economics.

Week Two: Pick a Lane (Then Steal From the Others)

By now you've unlocked enough of the ability tree to make real choices, and here's where most players freeze. My take: commit to one primary build path for the rest of the month. Any of the three core paths works at every level of play — what matters is depth, not which one you picked.

That said, don't build ignorantly. Borrow one utility skill from each of the other trees. A mobility player with a single defensive tool survives fights that would otherwise end them. It's the gaming equivalent of ordering a side of vegetables.

This is also the week to start reading the AI's behavior instead of just reacting to it. The enemy isn't random — it's a system with tells. Start keeping a mental note of what happened right before each ambush. By day 20, you'll be predicting them.

Week Three: The Wall (And How to Climb It)

Let's be honest about something most guides skip: week three is where the game fights back hard. The AI's early-mid escalation is brutal by design, and the difficulty spike filters out a chunk of every new-player wave. If you hit the wall, you're not bad — you're on schedule.

Three adjustments that got me through it:

  1. Reroute your resources. Stop upgrading damage. At this stage, survivability and utility upgrades outvalue raw DPS almost every time.
  2. Play the map, not the fight. The maps have vertical routes and environmental hacks that trivialize encounters most players brute-force. Spend an evening just exploring.
  3. Find people. Solo queue into coordinated play is night and day. The community discords and the LFG threads on the official forums are active basically around the clock, US time zones included.

Week Four: You're a Player Now

If you've followed along, something quietly happened this week: you stopped dying to things that used to kill you, and you started making choices instead of reactions. That's the transition from tourist to player.

Use week four to finish your build's core abilities, clear the remaining early-game territory, and — this is the part people forget — go back and revisit the content you sneaked past in week one. Old zones hit differently when you actually know what you're doing, and some of the best lore fragments are tucked into areas new players sprint through.

One Last Thing

Look, you can ignore all of this and figure it out yourself. Honestly, some of my favorite Singularity memories come from mistakes. But if you want to skip the three weeks of frustration and get to the good stuff faster, this roadmap will get you there.

The machine is patient. It's been waiting for you specifically. Don't make it easy.
