The Meta Report: 7 Builds Running Singularity Right Now (and How to Shut Them Down)

Let's be honest with ourselves: the current Singularity meta is a problem, and it's also kind of fun.
The balance team's last patch nudged ability cooldowns and armor scaling, but the top-end builds weathered it fine. If you're queuing ranked or pushing endgame raids this week, you're going to run into these seven setups over and over. Here's the honest tier list — with the counters baked in, because complaining is easy and winning is better.
Tier 1: The Problem Children
1. Ghostwire Duelist (Blade Rush / Phase Step) The undisputed king. Phase Step's i-frames make Ghostwire players functionally untargetable during burst windows, and Blade Rush closes any gap in under a second.
The counter: Don't chase. Ghostwire wins every duel it initiates, so make it initiate on your terms. Trap-heavy kits and delayed AoE punish Phase Step's fixed blink pattern. In team play, focus it second — it dies embarrassingly fast once its dash is down.
2. Bastion Protocol (Overshield Tank / Reflect Field) The wall you bounce off of. Bastion stacks overshields on top of damage reflection until fighting it feels like a tax audit.
The counter: It's a math problem. Reflect doesn't touch DoT effects, so burn and bleed builds melt Bastions that overcommit. Also: it has to drop Reflect to push objectives. Make it move.
Tier 2: Strong, But Beatable
3. Hexcode Warlock (Chain Corruption / Overload) Ranged area denial with a nastier edge — Corruption chains between clustered teammates like gossip in a group chat.
The counter: Spacing. That's it, that's the counter. Hexcode players are banking on you stacking up; spread out and the build loses half its value.
4. Overclock Medic (Combat Drone / Nano Burst) Support builds shouldn't top damage charts, and yet. A well-played Overclock Medic keeps a squad alive through anything short of a nuke.
The counter: Kill the drone first. Every time. It's tempting to focus the Medic, but the drone does the heavy lifting — and it can't overheal itself.
5. Railjack Marksman (Charge Rifle / Kinetic Stabilizer) Old faithful. One-shot potential across three zip codes, now with better handling after the patch.
The counter: Verticality and smoke. Railjack players hate not having sightlines, and the charge-up windup is a free dodge window if you're paying attention.
Tier 3: Strong in the Right Hands
6. Wraith Infiltrator (Stealth / Backstab Loop) Terrifying in solo queue lobbies, less so against coordinated teams that run detection pulse. If a Wraith is popping off on you, the problem might be your comms.
The counter: Detection tools, area denial, and not wandering off alone like it's a slasher film.
7. Juggernaut Breaker (Melee / Shockwave Slam) The most honest build on this list — it just runs at you. Shockwave Slam will absolutely end a capture point, though.
The counter: Kiting. It's a marathon, not a fistfight, and Juggernauts lose every marathon.
Should Anything Get Nerfed?
Honest take: Ghostwire's Phase Step i-frames are the only real offender. Everything else on this list is strong-but-answerable, and half the fun of Singularity's combat is finding those answers. Bastion feels oppressive until you bring DoTs; Hexcode feels broken until you spread out.
The meta isn't solved — it's just settled, for now. And patches have a way of flipping this list on its head. Check back after the next balance pass, because if the devs are reading the same match data we are, Tier 1 is about to get a shake-up.
